From OCM to OCF: Lessons Learned and What’s Next

As a direct result of the challenges faced with MIPS, OCM and COVID-19, oncology practices are anxiously preparing to engage in OCF moving forward. There is broad acknowledgement that early physician engagement has been critical to those who have experienced success in OCM, along with having a champion in an administrator role. OCM has prompted some practices to embark on a strategic digital transformation—and experienced practices urged others who will be evaluating new technologies to ensure software and vendors provide evidence-based results and data to support adoption. Upon publication of CMS final rules for OCF, savvy practices new to or looking to succeed in OCF should apply these actionable lessons learned from participants in OCM.
