2020 State of Unplanned Work Report, EMEA

As operational complexity continues to increase, unplanned work is emerging as a rapidly growing trend hindering an organization’s ability to deliver on the promise of digital transformation. Disruptions caused by unplanned work compel workers to shift into real-time action and fire drills, diverting them from innovation, while also hurting productivity and team health.

To understand the impact of unplanned work on IT practitioners and on the enterprise, we commissioned a study of 500+ respondents in the EMEA region.

Interesting findings:

  • 81% of respondents said that their companies have little or no automation for IT issue resolution.
  • 73% of respondents said they find out about customer-impacting issues from their customers themselves.
  • 29% of respondents indicated that they considered leaving their jobs due to unplanned work.
