Academics are at the forefront of innovation; accomplished researchers are embracing the opportunity to tackle the big issues of our time. One of these identified issues was for faster and more accurate analysis of CT scans.  

Fujitsu has joined forces with Macquarie University and healthcare provider GE Healthcare to develop an AI-enabled diagnostic technology that can analyse CT scans for brain aneurysms. The new AI-enabled diagnostic technology could dramatically reduce the time taken to review each scan, bringing significant cost savings and the potential to save lives by detecting aneurysms that might otherwise be missed by the human eye.  

Speeding up the analysis frees up valuable radiologist time allowing them to focus on other patients. With this AI technology and the accompanying 3D structural analysis data, neurosurgeons will be able to make better decisions when planning surgeries.

This technology will have a life-saving impact for many patients.
