From emptying dustbins right through to life-saving surgery, public sector services form an essential part of everyday life – and they’re not immune to global pandemics. By the end of April 2020, 136 countries had implemented some form of homebased working for public sector roles. In the UK, this included online GP appointments and the Government suspending the legal requirement for local councils to meet in person. Ensuring continuity of key services requires job roles that are designed as either fully-remote or blended between onsite and home.
