To help IT decision-makers better understand specialized users and their technology needs, Dell commissioned a survey across five global regions and seven vertical industries. The results can help IT decision-makers optimize resources, enabling those critically important users to perform at their best.

The survey found specialized users place a premium on:

• Mobility – specialized users are frequent travelers and often work from remote locations.
• Uncompromising reliability and durability – specialized users carry out important tasks and can ill afford downtime. In addition, they often work in harsh environments.
• Security – specialized users often work with sensitive data. Their desire to be productive, often while traveling or working remotely, causes them to sometimes bypass corporate security measures.
