As security threats and malware have evolved, so too have attacks on U.S. federal agencies. According to the 2020 Thales Data Threat Report – Federal Edition, conducted in conjunction with analyst and research firm IDC, more than half of U.S. federal government study respondents have been breached or experienced failed security audits even though 71 percent believe they are very secure. Clearly, agencies are not sufficiently implementing the processes and investing in the technologies required to appropriately protect their data.
